converting HEIC to JPG never loses meaningful quality at the default setting; converting JPG to HEIC roughly halves file size.

Why heiftojpg.net

01

Real server-side encoding

We use production-grade image libraries (libheif/libvips) on our backend, not a slow in-browser approximation — so JPG to HEIC output is properly encoded, not a workaround.

02

Batch, not one-by-one

Upload a whole camera roll export at once. Convert every file in one pass and download everything as a single zip.

03

Nothing kept afterward

Files exist in server memory only for the seconds it takes to convert them, then they're gone. No accounts, no photo library, no tracking pixels on your images.

How it works

step 1

Choose a direction

Pick HEIC → JPG if your photos won't open on Windows or in an old app. Pick JPG → HEIC if you want smaller files for backup or iPhone storage.

step 2

Drop your files

Drag and drop or browse. You can select as many files as you need in one go.

step 3

Download the result

Grab each file individually or download everything together as a zip archive.

Common questions

What is a HEIC file?+
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the photo format iPhones have used by default since iOS 11. It compresses photos to roughly half the size of an equivalent JPG at the same visual quality, but a lot of Windows software, older apps, and some websites still can't open it directly — that's what this tool fixes.
Will converting to JPG lower the quality?+
Not noticeably at the default 90% quality setting. You can push the slider to 100 for a near-lossless result, at the cost of a larger file.
Is there a file limit?+
Each file can be up to 30MB, and you can convert up to 20 files in one batch. That covers the vast majority of phone photos and camera exports.
Do you store my photos?+
No. Files are held in memory only for the conversion and are discarded immediately afterward. See our privacy policy for the full details.
